Remember the commercial “It softens your hands while you’re doing dishes”? Well, I believe that it does the same for the hoof. I have used this household product for more than two decades for soaking horses feet when there was an abscess or a bruise/inflammation. I always had good results; the foot never got damaged like in the case of Epsom Salt. I just add about the same amount of this dish washing liquid in the water as when washing dishes. After soaking (15 to 20 min/warm water) I rinse the soap off and do what ever I have to do with the hoof thereafter.
