I have to refute the latter comments; “Counteracts weight loss, appetite loss, and stress”. First of all if your horse suffers from these problems one should find the answers why it is happening. Using this product may cover them temporarily but soon or later you will have them again. I do not like this product as a daily supplement, especially when used for longer period of time. However, I like Redglo as a “blood builder” (iron + B12/red blood cells etc), especially as an aid in recovery after sickness. This product will work great in helping your horse to get back to normal, especially if the horse was not on it prior to his illness. After the horse is well, one should discontinue and return to normal diet or to simpler and less potent vitamins like Clovite.
I have used this product in the past on racehorses and the following results were noticed:
- After about six months of use, the horses seemed to so-called “burn out” and this product actually delivered the above mention characteristic that it claims to counteract. I believe that is why some race folks start to pump some hormones into the creatures in such situation.
- Horses tend to get high/hot and often even nervous, mainly for the amateur horsemen it is too much.
- When discontinued, horses demonstrated to some extend a dependency on this product and in some cases even withdrawal like symptoms.
- I’ve seen horses eat dirt excessively when on this product.
