This product is advertised for the following use:

Water-resistant protection without bandaging!
“Recommended as an aid in treating horses and ponies with thrush due to organisms susceptible to copper naphthenate. Contains 37.5% copper naphthenate. For external use only. Not for use on animals intended food.”

My experiences with this product in the above suggested use are as follows:

Kopertox will destroy the thrush for most part, but it also damages the frog in the process. I have noticed on several occasions where the Kopertox was used to cure the thrush and these following changes had occurred:

The frog shriveled up and hardened.
It took very long time for the frog to regenerate.
The foot gets very hard when treated with this product.
The entire hoof and not only the heel, tends to contract more when using this product.
The foot seems to carry more heat during and after the treatments.
The hoof seems to dry out noticeably.

There are alternative treatments for hooves suffering from the thrush. We will introduce several other options on our web.

I genuinely dislike this product and its results that it produces. I’ve stop using this product a long time ago.
